Creating Home – From Offline Vision to a Full Shopify Launch
Creating Home is a personal online furniture shop founded by Sander Brugts. With years of experience in sales and a clear vision for what customers want, Sander knew how to run a business, but had never built a Shopify store before. Together with his sister Iris on the technical side, and stylist Kim on creative input, he set out to bring his vision to life.
The Challenge
Sander had no experience building an online store or working with Shopify. He needed a store that felt personal and unique, but without depending on an expensive agency. There was no technical foundation yet: no structure, no sections, no product pages. The challenge was to launch fast, without losing the heart of the brand.
The Solution
We designed and built a full Shopify store using the Empire theme to build upon. After this we created a custom homepage layout featuring the story behind Creating Home and an inspiration store. We then turned to training the owner on how to manage and update the store independently post-launch.
The Result
Creating Home launched its first fully functional online store in under two months. The store now reflects the personal tone and vision of the founder.
Sander can independently manage products and homepage content with confidence. Visitors are spending more time browsing, especially the nearly 7500 products and Collection sections.
